Police have charged 20-year-old Rafael Romo Navarro with intoxication manslaughter following a hit-and-run accident in north Houston late Saturday night. According to the Chronicle story here, Navarro was travelling on Interstate 45 around 1 a.m. Sunday morning when he allegedly rear ended a disabled Toyota Camry that was parked on the left shoulder, killing the driver instantly.
Navarro allegedly fled the scene of the accident on foot and was found less than half an hour later hiding under a vehicle at a nearby car dealership.
Navarro is currently in jail and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
The victim’s name has not been released because some family members have not yet been notified.
