Comments Off

The family of a Tyler woman who tragically died in a rollover accident in March of 2007 has filed a lawsuit alleging that seat belt manufacturer, TRW Vehicle safety Systems Inc., provided an unreasonably dangerous restraint system. See the South East Texas Record story here.

The lawsuit claims that TRW restraint systems used in 1998 grand prix’s like the one Sandra Dozier was driving at the time of the accident failed to meet safety standards.

The suit claims that the restraint systems violated GM’s internal specifications and the principles of crashworthiness.

Plaintiffs’ attorneys representing the estate of Sandra Dozier are seeking compensation for damages related to loss of care, maintenance, support, services, advice, pecuniary contributions, companionship, consortium, and loss of inheritance. The suit is also seeking compensation for mental anguish, medical and funeral expenses, interest in court costs.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward is assigned to the case.
