On Monday a California judge sentenced dog owner Marjorie
Knoller to 15 years to life in prison, seven years after her two 100+ pound
Presa Canarios fatally mauled her neighbor in the hallway of her apartment
building. A jury originally convicted Knoller of second-degree murder, but a
judge reduced the conviction to involuntary manslaughter landing Knoller a four
year sentence in 2002.

Last year the California Supreme Court ordered that the
second-degree murder conviction be reinstated. Knoller was sentenced to 15 years
to life in prison for the second-degree murder charge on Monday.

Knoller’s attorneys plan to appeal the decision.
