For the sixth consecutive year, Robert J. Binstock, founding partner of the Houston-based law firm of Reich & Binstock, has been named one of Houston’s Top Lawyers for the People by H Texas, “Houston’s Premiere Lifestyle Magazine.”

American Registry LLC seconded the honor by adding Binstock to its exclusive Registry for Business Excellence.

“This is indeed a special honor for me,” Binstock said. “Being named one of Houston’s Top Lawyers for the People reflects Reich & Binstock’s laudable track record of ensuring that justice is served for victims who have suffered a pharmaceutical injury.

“We are here to help people who may not be able to fight on their own in the oft-intricate judicial process, notably in regard to defective drug litigation that calls for attorneys with specialized experience and expertise. This award not only recognizes me, but it attests to the diligence and excellence of our wonderful staff. On behalf of our entire team, I am very proud to receive it.”

Binstock has represented hundreds of injured plaintiffs in mass and class actions focusing on medical device, product liability, toxic tort, and pharmaceutical litigation. Working in one of his specialties, Binstock is representing plaintiffs in pharmaceutical injury claims filed to hold accountable the makers of the dialysis product GranuFlo, the contraceptive Yaz, Transvaginal Mesh, and the antidepressant Zoloft.

Binstock has assumed a leadership role in benchmark pharmaceutical litigation, serving on three Court-Appointed Plaintiff's MDL Steering Committees involving Levaquin, Digitek and the Kugel Mesh Hernia Patch.

The word “experience” is anything but an overstatement for Binstock, who has been practicing law since 1981 and who has co-led Reich & Binstock since 1985. Licensed in Texas and leading a national law firm that operates in all 50 states, Binstock is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. A University of Pittsburgh alumnus who was conferred his doctor of jurisprudence degree by South Texas College of Law, Binstock is also board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Binstock is admitted to practice law before numerous courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States and the Supreme Court of Texas.

For upholding a high standard of professional excellence, Binstock has earned the following additional accolades:

  • Voted Texas Super Lawyer, 2007 through 2012
  • Member, Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum
  • Honored as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers, 2011and 2012, by the National Board of Trial Lawyers

Active in community service, Binstock is co-founder and a current board member for the River Performing and Visual Arts Center, a nonprofit charity that provides art enrichment courses, summer camp and outreach programs for children with disabilities.

River recently merged with TUTS, Theater Under the Stars, which has greatly expanded the River’s ability to reach children with and without disabilities throughout Houston and the surrounding areas.
