8 years ago Avandia a drug used to treat type two diabetes, came onto the market and is now used by over six million people. Experts now caution all users of Avandia to talk to their doctors about whether or not they should be on the drug, and are warned not to quit the drug all together because some side effects might occur.

Some severe Avandia side effects can include:

  • Angina (severe chest pain)
  • Congestive heart failure (CHF)
  • Heart Attack (myocardial infarction)
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Stroke

According to a review published by the New England Journal of Medicine studies have shown that users of Avandia showed a 43% higher risk of heart attack than those not on the drug. Although the maker of Avandia remains very confident in the safety of the diabetic medicine, congress is said to be holding a hearing on the safety issues.

If you or a loved one has been affected by the drug Avandia, then don’t hesitate to contact the law office of Reich and Binstock today!
