YES! and i’m not going to lie, I am a huge fan of energy drinks. Nothing is better for trying to stay up late and study or for just a little wake up call in the afternoon, but unfortunately these energy drinks can be harmful to your health. Many energy drinks are loaded with caffeine, sugar and herbal stimulants that can make you more alert., but at the same time it also increases your heart rate rapidly and can put your body in danger.

Caffeine is the main ingredient in energy drinks and this is not what is directly toxic to the heart, but if you have any underlying heart problems at all then it can increase your chances of having more problems. Caffeine can increase your blood pressure and sometimes impair the blood flow to your heart. This can trigger abnormal heart rhythms which in some people can be life threatening.

Another problem today is that people are consuming energy drinks with alcohol, which can be especially dangerous. The combination of alcohol and caffeine can speed up your heart rate to a very dangerous level, so don’t combine alcohol with energy drinks!

Another problem is that energy drinks can give you side effects such as irritability, nervousness, and nausea if it was consumed to quickly. Be careful with this because sometimes drinking the energy drinks too fast can lead to hospitalization.

Overall know the risks associated with theses energy drinks so that you can keep your body healthy, and my little word of advice would be to just drink them in moderation
