Texas residents who have suffered damages from Hurricane Ike have only two weeks left to register for disaster assistance through FEMA. The deadline for registration is Feb. 6, 2009. Those who have suffered damages are being urged by state and federal officials to register for assistance as soon as possible.
Applicants can register for assistance via the web by logging onto the FEMA website or by calling toll free at 1-800-621-FEMA.
Disaster assistance may include grants to help pay for temporary housing costs, home repair, and other expenses that were incurred as a direct result of Hurricane Ike.
