With the recent onslaught of toy recalls retail giant Toys R’ Us has developed a new toy safety website, www.toysrus.com/safety. The CEO of the company says that he understands the concerns of consumers and want to reassure them that Toys R’ Us is doing all they can to ensure product safety. Within the past 2 months Mattel and other toy makers have recalled almost 20 million toys due to safety concerns about the toys.

Millions of toys were contaminated by lead paint and others were recalled for small magnets that could pose a serious risk if they were to be swallowed by a child. Some of the recalled toys were among the best sellers at retail stores, and Toy R’ Us has paid a financial cost for the recent recalls. The new website aims to educate consumers and provide them with additional information about toy dangers.

The website is an interactive database of recall information. Product recall listings are listed by manufacturer, product number, and toy name. Each toy is available for viewing to ensure parents match the proper product number with the appropriate toy.

With the upcoming holiday season about to kick into action, the company is doing all they can to rebuild a trusting relationship with toy buying public. They hope that this new website will provide parents with the security and trust that they have lost over the past couple of months.
