On Tuesday, July 31, two workers were killed and one was injured when a concrete wall panel collapsed at a construction site in Brownsville. The concrete panel fell on a boom lift, which the workers were operating. The two workers who worked for Texas Steel Erectors Inc. were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were names were not released due to pending notification of their relatives. A 22 year-old man was reported to be in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

The building project will eventually house a T-Mobile customer service center. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be investigating the cause of the accident.
